Getting Those Galaxy Tickets Sorted
So the LA Galaxy vs San Diego game popped up on my radar last Friday. Buddy texted me like “dude, we gotta go” and I figured yeah, why not. Haven’t seen Messi play yet. Problem? Tickets ain’t cheap, man. Staring at those prices gave me instant heartburn. Knew I had to hunt for deals.
Started where everybody starts – searching online. Just typed something like “LA Galaxy tickets cheap”. Dozens of sites popped up. Some looked shady, like those dodgy pop-ups trying to sell you bootleg gear. Clicked on a few, prices were all over the place. One site said $70 for nosebleeds! Another showed $150 for practically the same spot. Absolute madness. Closed those tabs fast.
Got smarter. Remembered the Galaxy website itself usually has stuff. Headed straight there. Navigated through their “tickets” section. Boom. Found the match listing easy enough. But man, their official prices? Still felt steep. Decent lower section seats were asking $95 each. Plus fees? Nah. Didn’t feel like burning cash today.
Took the hunt to resale sites next. Here’s where it got messy:
- First site: Prices seemed decent initially, hovering around $55-65. Clicked on a $60 ticket. Added it to cart. Checkout button… clicked. Then bam! A huge $24 “service fee” slapped on. NOPE. Backed out feeling scammed.
- Second site: Filtered by “lowest price first”. Found a promising $48 ticket way up high. Actually completed checkout steps this time! Got to payment page, entered card details… and error message. “Ticket not available.” Refreshed. Same seat now magically $75. Total nonsense.
- Third site: Almost gave up. Tried one more. Sorted prices low-to-high. Saw a pair listed together for $65 each. Figured it was too good. Added both to cart. Fees this time? Only $11 total. Weirdly reasonable compared to the others. Hesitated, but buddy was texting “did you get them?!”. Hit purchase. Card charged.
Confirmation email finally dinged in my inbox like a sweet little victory bell. Checked it four times just to be sure. Dates matched. Seat numbers clear. Section 120, way up there but whatever. $65 bucks each plus that $11 fee beat paying nearly double elsewhere. Took longer than expected, clicking back and forth like crazy, dealing with those stupid hidden fees and errors. Feels a bit overpriced still? Maybe. But hey, tickets are locked down. Ready to grab beers, hit the metro line to the stadium, and scream my head off.
